Good morning!! I cannot believe it is Christmas Eve, and if you are a last minute gift getter like I am, homemade gifts (and shoutout to Amazon Prime) are for you!
I met with my friend Gracie yesterday to make a few last minute gifts before Christmas tomorrow and wanted to share them with you because they turned out so well and were easy to make!
Homemade Candles:
Gracie got soy wax chips and wicks at Michaels (LIFE HACK never buy anything from Michaels for full price, there’s always a coupon to be found).
Put wicks into the mason jars (easily thrifted) then melt 3 cups of soy wax chips in a pot on the stove and pour until jars are nearly full. Mix essential oils in and stir gently until you get the desired scent, then set a fork on top to keep the wick standing. Once the candles were almost fully hard, we put some cloves and pine in for decoration.
Essential Oil Mist:
Add 2 tbsp of unscented Thayers witch hazel and 1/2 tbsp filtered water, 1 tsp Fractionated coconut oil into a spray bottle. We used lavender essential oil (around 10 drops or until you can smell it nicely) and a couple drops of lemon for scent, then shake and spray! Lavender is good for sensitive skin and especially calms you before bed and lemon is good for oily skin!
**make sure the essential oils you have are good to use on the face and body
Dried Fruit garlands:
Cut a grapefruit and an orange into thin-ish slices, blot dry and bake in the oven at 350º for 10-12 minutes then flip sides for another 10 minutes. Keep touching to see if they’re dry and add cloves on top before flipping to add that Christmas scent. They even look cute as ornaments on the tree!
How cute and simple are these?! If you make any or have similar decorations on your fireplace, tag us in your pictures 😀 My Instagram is @marley.justus and Gracie’s is @gracieellen_ .
I hope you have the best Christmas and I will be back here next Tuesday which is the last day of 2019!
xx Marley
