20 Things I’ve Learned in 20 Years

20 Things I’ve Learned in 20 Years

Last year I wrote “19 Things I Want to do in My 19th Year” and almost accomplished all of them!! It’s a fun way to keep track of my goals and have the blog keep me accountable.

This post however, will be 20 things I have learned in the past years and quotes I love.

  1. You would be surprised at who is watching your journey and being inspired by it. Never give up.
  2. If you ask for someone’s opinion, they’re going to be honest. If you don’t want to hear it, do not ask.
  3. It’s never too late to make best friends !!
  4. You never know what stage of life someone is at, so be kind to everyone. Speak to people as if it was their last day on Earth.
  5. Life is short so don’t miss out on the little things. Spend time outside with friends, watch movies with your family and play board games.
  6. Honesty is the best policy !!
  7. Don’t rush something you want to last forever.
  8. Long walks, drives, watching sunsets with good friends and talking for hours are underrated.
  9. You will never influence the world by trying to be like it.
  10. Even your worst days only have 24 hours.
  11. Surround yourself with people who push you to be your best self. Life is too short to be fake and petty.
  12. What if everything you are going through is preparing you for what you asked for?
  13. Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.
  14. Where you are a year from now is a reflection of the choices you choose to make right now.
  15. God answers in different ways. Sometimes he says “yes” and gives you what you pray for, sometimes he says “no” and gives you something better and sometimes he says “wait” and saves the best for you. There is always a bigger picture.
  16. If you ask God to help you grow, don’t be surprised if it starts raining.
  17. What you think of yourself and what God says about you is a lot more important than what others think of you.
  18. Instead of thinking about all the “mistakes” you’ve made, think of all the lessons you’ve learned.
  19. Exercise should be a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment for what you have done or eaten in the past
  20. Hearts are prettier when they’re thankful for what they’ve been given instead of wanting what they do not have.

My birthday is tomorrow and with this virus going around, it does not feel like spring break or a time to celebrate and I can’t believe it’s even March already.

Anyways, I hope you all are staying productive and I will see you next Tuesday! Until then, catch me on Twitter or Instagram 😉

I hope you all have a wonderful week xx M
