Buenos Dias! I am on a hot chocolate high since Vienna (BasicBloggerss) and I went to EVERY cafe in Abbotsford testing hot chocolates to bring you this list!!
Okay, in all honesty I’m certain there are more cafes in Abbotsford than this list but they either a) don’t have hot chocolate b) were closed or c) haven’t updated their websites.
All these local cafes also have delicious baked goods GF and Vegan but we are only judging them on their hot chocolates today.
The Polly Fox | $4.62 | 1.5/5 stars
For some reason this one did not taste like hot chocolate in the slightest and I don’t think it was because of the gluten free/vegan business because I like gf and vegan things but this was a little off.
Cafe Amarti | $4.20 | 4/5 stars
I think this was my third favourite as far as size, price and taste go. It was a decent cup size, tasted good and was pretty, the only thing could have been more chocolate tasting- you know instead of that unsweetened cardboard almond milk hint.
Duft and Co | $7.09 | 2.5/5 stars
This was the most expensive place we stopped and the hot chocolate tasted like unsweetened almond milk which was disappointing.
Old Hand | $5.25 | 3.5/5 stars
I would say this cup was my second favourite. Super pretty, tasted delicious and nice customer service! What could be improved is the price for the size of the cup.
Starbucks | $4.57 | 4.5/5 stars
My favourite one BY FAR. Starbucks prices are uuuuh but this tasted like hot chocolate, wasn’t too sweet and had good almond milk!
Tim Hortons | $1.88 | 4/5 stars
Vienna’s favourite! The cheapest one and not bad, but McDonalds and Tim Hortons don’t have milk substitutes which did NOT agree with my stomach and I’m not used to the taste of milk so this was not my favourite.
McDonalds | $2.51 | 4/5 stars from V and 2/5 stars from me
Super sweet, normal milk and I swear half of this cup was whip cream.
We also vlogged ourselves trying all these drinks, although I’m not sure how the audio turned out but check out Vienna’s channel here! If you love hot chocolate as much as we do, comment below and if you are local, you MUST try Old Hand Coffee!
