Autumn is among us and winter is coming, which here in Vancouver means the air is getting crisper. Today I have rounded up the top 5 jackets you need in your closet to survive this winter & be on trend!
I have been trying to shop more consciously recently, however I do believe in purchasing a few good quality garments and it’s hard sometimes to find ones that are made ethically or sustainably. These jackets are from a variety of stores, and inspired by runway trends but at more affordable prices.
- Zara maxi puffer jacket– comfort is key and there is no doubt this will keep you warm! Make sure to stick to a neutral colour for a more timeless piece
- (Reformation) Veda leather blazer– a sophisticated, retro/luxe look & add a belt to cinch the waist!
- ASOS trench coat– updated in oversized proportions for a unique, more trend based look
- Pretty Little Thing cropped aviator jacket– a fun, colder-weather-take on a classic leather jacket with the addition of faux shearling and metal hardware
- H&M duffle coat– chunky, warm, functional, and has the best detailing! Personally, I would take off the fur to find a more mature look but either way is super stylish
I was never a “jacket person” because it can get pricey for a high quality one and they never fit me right, but since being in fashion school I have realized how a jacket completes a look! I have one from Aritzia that I found almost brand new from the thrift store and I cannot wait to get a couple more styles for this upcoming winter.
